Made

the
Shade
is a nursery dedicated to growing
large, high quality perennials for
both sun and shade. We like to think
that Made in the Shade is a state of
mind, not just the name of the
company.
We invite you to
come and explore the gardens, take
time to look at the many varieties
of plants, both perennial and
otherwise, enjoy the birds, and
perhaps simply enjoy an excursion to
the country.
Made in the Shade serves
both retail customers and
landscapers at our convenient site
or by delivery on larger orders. Our
plants are specially selected to
thrive in Eastern Ontario and all of
our stock is grown on site.

Laura Tattersall is the founder
and CEO of Made in the Shade Perennials
Inc., established in 2006. She has more
than 30 years of experience in
professional horticulture in Eastern
Ontario and Quebec, working in
propagation, wholesale and retail on the
supply side, and as a landscaper and
designer. Her business plan won start-up
support in the
First Capital Challenge in 2006.

Lynn
Tattersall (daughter of Laura) re-joined
the company in 2010, as a full time
employee. She first worked as a summer
student in 2006. She has grown up around
the horticulture business and is now
taking on a challenging role at the
nursery leading the production team, as
well as helping with sales.

 Tia Gillespie has been with
us since 2010. She has progressed from being
a summer student to being an integral part
of the team here at Made in the Shade. No
mention of Tia is complete without
mentioning that she is an amazing artist,
and we are proud to help support her in her
artistic work.
