Columbine have delicate flowers held above the foliage on stems that are stronger than they appear. Great choice for drier areas, the plants can be short-lived so we let them go to seed then shake seed on to soil once the pods have dried for continual new plants. Combine with other drought lovers such as Alchemilla, Fern-leaf Bleeding Heart (Dicentra formosa), or Lungwort (Pulmonaria).
