Toad Lilies should be a part of everyone's shade garden. The very unusual flowers are held on arching stems, in fall, when shady borders are notoriously lacking in flower. They deserve a location where they can be appreciated close up, as they are truly spectacular. Some winter protection in the form of leaves is helpful for wintering over. Once established very long lived.
